Decision on winter vacations in educational institutions will be taken today

ISLAMABAD (National Times) – A meeting of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) will be held today (Tuesday) to make final decision on winter vacations in the educational institutions, Dunya News reported.

The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in which the issue of vaccination of children will also be considered.

The meeting will also consider a proposal to shift the winter break to January, while reforms in the provincial education system will also be reviewd.

On Thursday, the government of Sindh announced winter vacations for schools and colleges — public and private — across the province.

Schools and colleges in Sindh will remain closed for winter vacations from December 20 till January 1, 2022, as per a decision taken by the education department s steering committee.

The decision was taken after a meeting of the sub-committee, which also agreed to reopen educational across Sindh on Monday, January 3, 2022.
