Pakistan Tops Erasmus+ Global Rankings for Fifth consecutive Year, 98 Scholars Awarded Prestigious EU Scholarships

Brussels (National Times) Pakistan–European Union collaboration in higher education has reached another significant milestone, as Pakistan secured the highest number of selections under the European Union’s prestigious Erasmus+ scholarship framework for the fifth consecutive year, underscoring the growing strength of Pakistan–EU academic cooperation.

The achievement reflects a long-standing and mutually beneficial partnership between Pakistan and the European Union, built on shared commitments to academic excellence, student and youth mobility, research collaboration, innovation, and institutional capacity-building.

The selection of 98 Pakistani scholars under the Erasmus+ programme is being hailed as a testament to the talent, dedication, and global competitiveness of Pakistan’s youth. Officials noted that Pakistan’s continued position at the top of global Erasmus+ rankings highlights both the excellence of its students and the deepening knowledge partnership between Pakistan and the EU.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels reaffirmed its commitment to advancing its Science Diplomacy agenda and further strengthening Pakistan–EU cooperation in higher education, research, innovation, and emerging technologies. The Embassy emphasized its role in fostering stronger linkages between universities, researchers, innovators, and academic institutions across both regions.

On the occasion, the Embassy also acknowledged the contributions of former First Secretary, Muhammad Adeel, whose efforts during his tenure in Brussels helped promote collaboration between Pakistan and the European Union in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and higher education.

The Embassy extended warm congratulations to all 98 awardees and expressed confidence that their academic journeys would further contribute to strengthening educational and research ties between Pakistan and Europe while serving as ambassadors of excellence on the global stage.

“Pakistan’s continued success in Erasmus+ selections reflects the remarkable potential of its youth and the enduring strength of Pakistan–EU academic cooperation,” the Embassy stated.
