Islamabad (National Times) President Asif Ali Zardari met Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where both leaders discussed the overall national situation, matters related to Afghanistan, and the evolving regional scenario. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and Dr. Asim were also present during the meeting. The meeting paid tribute to the martyrs of “Marka-e-Haq” and appreciated the professional capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces, reaffirming unwavering commitment to national defence. President Zardari said that despite difficult geographical and regional circumstances, tensions in the Middle East, and disruptions in supply chains, every possible effort should be made to provide maximum relief to the public. The President also directed authorities to take effective measures to reduce inflationary pressure, ensure the availability of essential commodities, and provide relief to the common man.
