Pakistan Navy Commissions First Hangor-Class Submarine in China

Karachi (National Times) The Pakistan Navy has officially inducted its first Hangor-class submarine, PNS/M Hangor, during a commissioning ceremony held in China. The event was attended by Asif Ali Zardari and Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
The Hangor-class submarine is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, advanced weapons systems, and air-independent propulsion (AIP) technology, enabling extended underwater endurance and enhanced operational capability.

This induction significantly strengthens Pakistan’s undersea deterrence and bolsters maritime security in the Arabian Sea. It also marks a major milestone in defense collaboration between Pakistan and China.
The commissioning of PNS/M Hangor is part of a broader modernization initiative aimed at enhancing the Pakistan Navy’s strategic capabilities in the region.
