Iranian drone hits fuel tanks at Kuwait airport, no casualties reported

KUWAIT CITY(National Times)- An Iranian drone struck fuel storage tanks at Kuwait International Airport early Wednesday, sparking a major fire.

Kuwait’s state news agency KUNA reported the incident while it confirmed that no casualties took place in the incident.

The attack, targeting a facility managed by the Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company, caused extensive damage, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation confirmed. Firefighting teams were promptly deployed to control the blaze.

This incident is part of a growing wave of attacks on critical infrastructure in Kuwait amid rising regional tensions.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry reported that a fire caused by a separate Iranian attack at one of its facilities had been contained.

The strikes come in the context of ongoing conflict, with the United States and Israel conducting airstrikes on Iran since February 28, resulting in over 1,340 deaths, according to Iranian sources.

In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as countries in the Gulf and the region hosting US military assets, including Jordan and Iraq.
