Over 20 arrested in crackdown on illegal Afghans residing in Karachi

KARACHI(National Times)- More than 20 Afghan nationals were taken into custody during police operation in Sohrab Goth area of Karachi on Friday night, Dunya News reported. Police conducted an operation in Sohrab Goth against Afghan nationals residing illegally. On the special instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, a targeted operation was carried out at specific locations. All the entry and exit points of the area were sealed before the start of the search operation, and door-to-door searches were conducted. Suspected individuals were also verified using biometric devices. A heavy police contingent, including female officers, took part in the operation. The search operation was conducted under the supervision of DSP Aurangzeb Khattak. More than 20 Afghan nationals were arrested, and further interrogation of the detainees is ongoing.
