Pakistan hoists flag on five more Afghan posts in Paktia

ISLAMABAD(National times)- The Pakistan Army has reportedly taken control of five additional Afghan border posts in Afghanistan’s Paktia province and hoisted the Pakistani flag, as tensions along the border continue to escalate. According to security sources, the action was carried out in response to what officials described as unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban forces. The newly captured posts are located opposite South Waziristan. Among them, two posts are situated opposite Shawal, two opposite Angoor Adda, and one opposite Zarmalan. Sources further stated that during the operation, Pakistani forces also destroyed the Afghan terminal at Angoor Adda. Officials claim that Afghan Taliban forces suffered heavy losses as a result of what they termed a strong and effective response by Pakistani security forces. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement detailing the full extent of the developments, but security sources indicate that operations are ongoing along the border region.
