Child dead, four burnt in Karachi flat fire after cylinder blast

KARACHI(National times)- A child was dead and four others sustained burns after a fire erupted in a flat due to an explosion of gas cylinder, Dunya News reported here on Saturday. The fire erupted after a massive explosion in a flat in North Nazimabad near Haidery. According to an initial report, a child was dead and four others including a woman sustained burns, who were sent to hospital. With the extensive blaze, the flat got vacated. Reports said the fire took place after the blast of a gas cylinder. Having being informed, rescue teams and fire brigades hurtled to the site and extinguished the blaze. Sindh IG ordered police officials to immediately reach the scene, and directed SSP Central to supervise the rescue operation. The explosion was heard in remote areas, which spread panic in the locality, forcing residents to come out of their houses.
