Appeals of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in controversial tweets case fixed for tomorrow

ISLAMABAD(National times)- The Islamabad High Court has fixed appeals filed by lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in the controversial tweets case for hearing tomorrow. The case will be heard by Justice Muhammad Asif, who will also take up applications seeking suspension of sentences awarded to the appellants. Both lawyers have challenged the trial court’s order issued on 24 January. The trial court had earlier sentenced them to 10 years’ imprisonment each along with fines. The hearing is expected to decide whether temporary relief is granted while the court proceeds with detailed examination of the appeals.
