Funeral prayers held for martyred policemen in D.I. Khan terror attack

DERA ISMAIL KHAN(National times)- Funeral prayers were offered with full state honours for five police personnel who were martyred in a terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan. The funeral prayers were held at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines, where the coffins of the fallen officers were presented with a guard of honour. Senior military and police officials, members of civil society, political and social figures, as well as relatives of the martyrs attended the prayers. After the funeral, the bodies were dispatched to their native areas for burial. The incident occurred a day earlier in the limits of Pinyala police station in Wanda Badh area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district. The policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists. According to police, the personnel were on routine patrol when they came under a sudden attack. During the gun battle, DSP Paharpur Circle Adnan also sustained serious injuries.
