Three killed in van trailer collision in Kotri

KOTRI(National times)- At least three people, including a woman and a five-year-old girl, were killed after a passenger van collided with a trailer near Kotri on the Hyderabad Motorway on Tuesday. According to rescue officials the high-speed passenger van crashed into a trailer traveling ahead, resulting in the deaths of the van driver and two passengers on the spot. Five others sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Rescue authorities identified the deceased as van driver 35-year-old Imran Ali, 45-year-old Zarmeen Qureshi, and 5-year-old Arisha Qureshi. Rescue sources said the affected family was traveling from Tando Adam to Karachi to attend a wedding ceremony when the tragic accident occurred. Police officials stated that the trailer driver fled the scene after the accident. The trailer has been taken into police custody and shifted to the police station, while efforts are underway to arrest the absconding driver.
