Pakistan, Libya agree to boost defence ties during Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit

RAWALPINDI(National times)- Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has undertaken an official visit to Libya, where Pakistan and Libya agreed to enhance defence cooperation at the military leadership level. According to ISPR, upon arrival in Libya, Field Marshal Munir was accorded a guard of honour by the Libyan armed forces. During meetings with Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding defence ties. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in training, capacity building, counter-terrorism, and broader military-to-military cooperation. Both leaders emphasised the importance of close cooperation to support shared strategic and security interests. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to further deepen defence relations with Libya based on mutual goals and regional stability.

Pakistan Army remains fully focused on internal, external challenges, says Field Marshal Munir

It must be noted that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir had emphasized recently that Pakistan Army remained fully focused on both internal and external challenges, including hostile hybrid campaigns, extremist ideologies, and divisive elements seeking to undermine national stability. The COAS stated this while interacting with officers and soldiers during his visit to Gujranwala and Sialkot Garrisons. Upon arrival, he was briefed on the formation’s operational readiness and key initiatives for strengthening combat preparedness. The field marshal witnessed field training exercise and advanced simulator training facility, lauding the formation’s high professional standards and overall state of readiness. Emphasizing the significance of technological adaptability, he noted that modern warfare demands agility, precision, situational awareness and swift decision-making. The COAS & CDF lauded their high morale and steadfast commitment to national security while underscoring the importance of rigorous and mission-oriented training. Earlier on his arrival at Gujranwala, the field marshal was received by Corps Commander Gujranwala.
