Quetta hosts Christmas ceremony to honour martyrs of Christian community

QUETTA(National times)- A special Christmas ceremony held in Quetta to pay tribute to the martyrs of Balochistan’s Christian community, who laid down their lives for the country. The event was attended by Jaffar Khan Mandokhail and the Corps Commander Quetta, who joined members of the Christian community in remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs. The chief guests offered heartfelt homage to the Christian heroes who rendered invaluable services to Pakistan and embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. Addressing the gathering, the governor and the corps commander appreciated the unity, cooperation and patriotism displayed by all religious communities, particularly their unwavering solidarity with the Pakistan Army. They personally met members of the Christian community, extended Christmas greetings, and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of all minorities. The speakers emphasised that religious harmony and national unity are Pakistan’s greatest strengths, noting that people of different faiths have always stood shoulder to shoulder in the defence and development of the country. They stressed that the sacrifices of minority communities are an integral part of Pakistan’s national history and identity. Speaking on the occasion, Pastor Asif Jan said that the sacrifices of Christian martyrs form a strong foundation for national unity and harmony. He remarked that the ceremony provided an important opportunity to remember the outstanding services and courage of the martyrs, whose legacy continues to inspire future generations. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the martyrs, peace in the country and continued harmony among all religious communities. Participants expressed their appreciation for the joint efforts of the provincial government and the Pakistan Army in promoting interfaith harmony, national cohesion and the protection and progress of all citizens across Balochistan.
