Lahore Safari giraffe dies amid climate change and stomach issues

L AHORE(National times)- A giraffe at the Lahore Safari Zoo has died due to climate-related stress and stomach complications. According to sources, the giraffe actually died two weeks ago. Twelve giraffes were imported from South Africa and placed under quarantine at the Safari Zoo, a process that has now been completed. Sources say two of the giraffes were weak and underweight from the very beginning. Despite receiving the same diet and environment as the others, their growth remained stunted and both showed symptoms of digestive problems. The Punjab government had allocated Rs 135 million for the project, under which nine giraffes were imported for the Safari Park and three for the Lahore Zoo.
