Accountability is now visible in powerful institutions, says Talal Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD(National Times)- Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that accountability is now clearly visible within Pakistan’s powerful institutions. Talal said that the punishment given to Faiz Hameed serves as an example for all individuals holding high offices. Minister said that some people believed the powerful could never be held accountable, but such instances are rare in world history where the head of a major security agency has been court-martialed. Talal stated that in the May 9 cases, the army even conducted trials of its own personnel, questioning why the civilian justice system has been unable to conclude the remaining May 9 cases. He added that PTI now has no justification left and should expel from the party those involved in incidents like May 9.
