LHC issues notices over tree cutting in Nasir Bagh

LAHORE(National Times)- The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued notices to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and others regarding a petition on the cutting of trees in Nasir Bagh. Justice Shahid Karim heard the miscellaneous petition filed by Azhar Siddique concerning the prevention of smog. The petitioner stated that despite court orders, trees were cut in Nasir Bagh, and earlier, a Banyan tree was also cut in the Cantonment area. The petition argued that apologies are always offered after trees had already been cut. The court was requested to take action against those responsible for cutting trees in Nasir Bagh. The LHC adjourned further proceedings on the petition until December 5.
