Pakistan elected to assume chair of ECO Council of Ministers for 2026-2027

ISLAMABAD(National times)- In the 29th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Ministers meeting held on Friday, Pakistan, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, was elected to assume the Chairmanship of the ECO Council of Ministers (COM) for 2026-2027. The election was virtually held today at 29th ECO-Council of Ministers meeting. The Foreign Ministers of ECO member states congratulated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar who participated in the meeting thanked them for their felicitations and support. Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan looks forward to working with the ECO member states and welcoming them to Pakistan in the next meeting to be held next year.
