KP govt decides to convene ‘Aman Jirga’ on Nov 12

PESHAWAR(National times)- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to convene ‘Aman Jirga’ (Peace Jirga) on November 12 due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, Dunya News reported. According to sources, opposition parties will be invited to participate in the ‘Aman Jirga’, along with former chief ministers, governors, and other officials. The PTI-led provincial government will hold an important consultative meeting on the proposed Peace Jirga to discuss in detail the overall political situation of the province and matters related to law and order. In this regard, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visited the residence of Mahmood Khan Achakza to hold discussion on national and political issues. They also consulted on the peace situation in Kurram and preparations for the Peshawar ‘Aman Jirga’. The 27th Constitutional Amendment and its possible implications for provincial autonomy were also discussed during the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Sohail Afridi said that tampering with the NFC Award would be harmful to national unity.
