Karachi students top Sindh in MDCAT 2025 as majority fail across province

KARACHI(National times)- Karachi students secured top positions across Sindh in the MDCAT 2025 examination conducted under IBA Sukkur University, outperforming candidates from other districts of the province. According to the official results, the top three positions in the MDCAT 2025 were all claimed by students from Karachi. Out of 124 candidates in the top ten rankings, 41 belonged to Karachi. Preliminary results revealed a concerning trend: despite having secured A1 and A grades in their intermediate board exams, a majority of students failed the national medical entry test. Topping the list was Syed Mehmood Khan, son of Adalat Khan from Karachi West, who scored 175 out of 180 marks. Faisal Ashraf Khan from Korangi, Karachi, and Shiraz Hussain, son of Niaz Hussain Maghiri from Qambar Shahdadkot, secured the second position with 174 marks each. The third position was shared by Muhammad Rayan Humayun, son of Humayun Farooq from Karachi East, Mahnur Shah Nawaz, daughter of Syed Shah Nawaz Hussain from Korangi, and Hira Abid, daughter of Abid Ali Siahto from Hyderabad, each scoring 173 marks.
