Four robbers killed in police encounter in Peshawar

PESHAWAR(National times)- Four robbers were killed during a police encounter in the Mirakachori Mehr Gul Kallay area of Peshawar, on Friday. According to police officials, the encounter took place after law enforcement received information about the presence of armed suspects. When police arrived at the scene, the robbers opened fire, prompting retaliatory fire that resulted in the deaths of all four members of the gang. Police revealed that the slain robbers had been involved in criminal activities since 2003, often disguising themselves in police uniforms to carry out their operations. The gang had recently looted millions of rupees and gold ornaments from a doctor’s house. SSP Operations Peshawar, Masood Ahmed Bangash, confirmed that the identities of the four robbers have been established. Three of them were Afghan nationals. Bangash added that the robbers were wanted by police in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Nowshera, and other districts. They were involved in two major recent robberies. Law enforcement recovered Kalashnikov rifles, a shotgun, two pistols and motorcycles from the scene.
