ISLAMABAD(National times)- Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Pakistan’s grand scholar, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, and prominent Sunni scholars to discuss recent events and address clerical concerns. The meeting took place at Mufti Muneeb’s residence, accompanied by Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah. Scholars presented their concerns, which Naqvi assured would be resolved on a priority basis.

Both sides agreed to hold a detailed session in Islamabad soon, and to appoint a dedicated focal person to maintain communication between the government and religious scholars. Naqvi emphasized that the government would not interfere in mosque or madrasa affairs. Among the scholars present were Allama Muzaffar Shah, Mufti Abid Mubarak, Allama Liaqat Hussain Azhari, Allama Rehan Azhar Naumani, Mufti Rafiur Rehman Noorani, Allama Ashraf Gormani, and Allama Ahmad Rabbani.
