Pakistani Embassy Hosts Networking Conference in Brussels to Strengthen Science and Knowledge Ties

Brussels (National Times) The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels organized a high-impact Students and Professionals Networking Conference, bringing together key representatives from the European Commission, Belgian institutions, and members of the Pakistani diaspora.

The event aimed to foster stronger knowledge cooperation between Pakistan, Belgium, and the European Union, while celebrating the growing contributions of Pakistani scholars and professionals in the region.

Representatives from the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Flemish Higher Education Council highlighted the encouraging momentum in πŸ‡΅πŸ‡°πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ educational and scientific collaboration. They shared key resources available to current and prospective Pakistani scholars in Belgium, underscoring a commitment to expanding bilateral academic exchange.

From the European side, officials from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) and DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) provided valuable briefings on flagship EU programmes, including Horizon Europe and Erasmus+, encouraging Pakistani participation in cutting-edge research and academic mobility opportunities.

A community showcase segment featured inspiring success stories from members of the Pakistani scientific and professional diaspora across various sectors in Belgium. The presentations served as both recognition of past achievements and motivation for future collaboration.

In his remarks, Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora and emphasized the “positive trajectory of Pakistan-Belgium-EU knowledge cooperation.” He underlined the role of science diplomacy as a powerful tool to build bridges with the diaspora and deepen international cooperation in education, innovation, and research.
