New York (National Times) A significant step toward strengthening Pakistan–US trade relations was marked with the signing of a trade Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between USA Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, New York and Global Trade Expo Centre Pakistan

The agreement was signed during the 2nd Pakistan–USA SMEs Trade and Business Delegation September 2025, led by Mr. Mazhar Hussain Thathal, Chairman and CEO of the Global Trade Expo Centre Pakistan. Representing the US side, Mr. Randy Peers, President of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, signed the MoU at a special ceremony held in New York.

The partnership aims to promote trade connectivity, facilitate business linkages, and organize joint trade exchange delegation programs and exhibitions on international platforms. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Randy Peers expressed his appreciation for the initiative, noting that the MoU would help create new opportunities for Brooklyn-based American businesses to expand into the Pakistani market. Also present at the ceremony were senior officials from the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, alongside members of Pakistan’s diverse business delegation.

The delegation from Pakistan represented multiple sectors, including textiles, surgical instruments, healthcare, solar technology, electric vehicle (EV) mobile charging solutions, and IT services. In the first B2B meeting following the MoU, Mr. Liaqat Ali Thathal, Director of International Trade and Relations at the Global Trade Expo Centre Pakistan, presented proposals to connect Pakistani businesses with American companies, such as Irish–American healthcare firms, to explore export opportunities in healthcare and technology.

Mr. Mazhar Hussain Thathal emphasized that the MoU is a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s SMEs, opening new doors for international collaboration and trade. “This partnership will not only strengthen bilateral trade ties but also enable Pakistani businesses to showcase their potential in the American market,” he stated.
The Global Trade Expo Centre Pakistan announced that a series of follow-up trade events, exhibitions, and business matchmaking sessions will be organized under this MoU, ensuring long-term cooperation between the two business communities.
