Flood-hit schools in Sialkot to remain closed for two more days

SIALKOT(National times)- Sialkot authorities have announced that 26 government schools in flood-affected areas will remain closed for two more days. According to a notification issued by the district administration, the decision was taken under the directive of the Deputy Commissioner. The schools will remain shut on 11 and 12 September, providing a two-day holiday for students, while teaching staff have been instructed to ensure attendance. The administration stated that heavy rains and flooding had damaged several educational institutions, prompting the extension of closures as a precautionary measure. Officials highlighted that the safety of students remains a priority amid the emergency situation across the district.

Schools closed in Karachi due to heavy rainfall

According to the notification, the closure covers multiple tehsils: four schools in Daska, six in Sialkot, six in Pasrur, and eight in Sambrial. These institutions will remain shut until the announced date, after which the situation will be reviewed.
