Ambassador Rizwan appeals to Pakistani-American community for flood aid

WASHINGTON(National times)- Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has appealed to the Pakistani-American community to extend their full support in relief efforts amid ongoing flooding situation in the country. He made the appeal while speaking at an event in Washington DC. He stated that the current priority for Pakistan is to provide relief and aid to regions affected by ongoing flooding. Speaking at an event in Washington, DC, Ambassador Sheikh discussed the destruction caused by the floods and noted that climate change has significantly impacted Pakistan’s development progress over the past few years. He emphasized that both the pace and scope of development in the country have suffered due to the effects of changing weather patterns. The ambassador stressed that all efforts are currently focused on humanitarian relief and recovery operations in the flood-stricken areas.
