EU announces aid for Pakistan flood victims

BRUSSELS(National times)- The European Union has announced international aid for flood-affected communities in Pakistan, pledging Rs350 million in relief funds. According to the EU, the assistance will be delivered through trusted NGOs and will cover essential needs such as life-saving medicines, clean water, and drainage infrastructure. A portion of the aid will also be provided as cash support to enable flood victims to purchase basic necessities.

High alert in 9 Punjab districts as India releases more water into Sutlej

This support comes amid widespread devastation caused by recent monsoon rains and floods. According to Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), 881 people have lost their lives and 1,176 have been injured nationwide. Among the most affected regions: Punjab recorded 223 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 48, Sindh 58, and Balochistan 26.
