Brussels: The great struggle of Ali Geelani for the freedom of Kashmir is unforgettable, Ali Raza Syed

Brussels (National Times) Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, stated that the great freedom leader, the late Syed Ali Shah Geelani, remained steadfast like a rock for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir, and we cannot forget his unwavering and tireless struggle.
In a statement issued from Brussels on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of Syed Ali Geelani’s passing, Ali Raza Syed said that the late Kashmiri leader endured long periods of imprisonment and house arrest and hardships for the cause of Kashmir’s freedom movement during his lifetime.
Paying tremendous tribute to Syed Ali Geelani, the Chairman of KCEU stated that despite difficulties, Geelani remained resolute in his intentions and provided full leadership and guidance to the Kashmiris. The late Ali Geelani inspired three generations of Kashmiris through his struggle. He was a hero to the Kashmiris and the true voice of Kashmir. He never wavered for a moment from his principles and ideals.
Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed, said that Syed Ali Geelani never compromised on his great goals and will always be remembered for his unconditional commitment and love for the Kashmiris and the Kashmir cause.
He stated that great personalities like Ali Geelani are born once in centuries. The impact of his guidance and struggle will remain for a long time.
Ali Raza Syed further stated that Ali Shah Geelani stood firm like a mountain in his strong support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris.
He said, “We pray that the Almighty grants Syed Ali Geelani a place in His mercy and grants the Kashmiris the ability to follow in his footsteps, Ameen.”
In his statement, the Chairman of the Kashmir Council EU condemned the ongoing Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Ali Raza Syed said that our struggle will continue until the people of occupied Kashmir are freed from Indian occupation. He demanded the release of all Kashmiri prisoners, including Hurriat leaders Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and human rights activist Khurram Parvez, imprisoned in Indian jails.
Ali Raza Syed appealed to the international community to play its role in ending Indian oppression on Kashmiris and for a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
