Petition against Rana Sanaullah’s senate nomination rejected

LAHORE (National times)- The Lahore High Court’s election tribunal has dismissed a petition challenging the approval of Rana Sanaullah’s Senate nomination papers, declaring it non-maintainable. The tribunal, headed by Justice Khalid Ishaq, observed that the petitioner was neither a voter nor a parliamentarian, and therefore could not be considered an affected party. “How can a petition be filed by someone who is not an affected party?” the court remarked. The tribunal further imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 on the petitioner for wasting the court’s time and dismissed the plea as non-maintainable.
