Maj Gen Umar Farid appointed new additional secretary in Defence Division

ISLAMABAD(National Times)- The federal government has issued a series of notifications regarding high-level appointments and transfers across various departments. Major General Umar Farid has been appointed as the new Additional Secretary in the Defence Division. He has replaced Major General Amir Ashfaq Kayani, whose services have been handed back to the Pakistan Army. In another major development, the services of Saira Imdad Ali (Grade 20), previously with the Commerce Division, have been transferred to the National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Lahore. Following the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Akbar Ali Rabbani has been appointed as Senior Manager (Procurement) for the Digital Economy Enhancement Project on a two-year contractual basis. Meanwhile, the appointment of Shehzad Nawaz Cheema, Joint Secretary of the Poverty Alleviation Division, as Director General of the Privatisation Commission has been cancelled. Additionally, Assistant Professor Maimoona Shehzadi has been transferred from the Higher Education Department of Azad Kashmir to the Federal Directorate of Education.
