Maryam Nawaz visits Yokohama port, praises Japan’s urban growth

YOKOHAMA(National times)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday visited the historic industrial city of Yokohama, Japan, where she observed port operations and praised the city’s modern development. During the visit, she highlighted the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) project, saying Lahore, located on the banks of River Ravi, should be developed on the lines of Yokohama. She invited Yokohama’s urban development experts to visit Lahore and review RUDA’s work, which the Japanese side accepted. Maryam Nawaz said her government aims to turn RUDA into a modern institution like Yokohama’s, ensuring industrial growth while keeping pollution and environmental risks at bay. The chief minister was also briefed on the port’s operations, management, and facilities during her visit.
