Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz arrives in Thailand

Bangkok(National times)- Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has arrived in Thailand as the first stop of her official foreign tour. Upon her arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport in the Thai capital, Bangkok, CM Maryam Nawaz and her delegation were warmly received by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Thailand, Rukhsana Afzal, along with senior officials. Top-ranking officials from the Thai government were also present at the airport to welcome the Chief Minister and the high-level delegation from Punjab. Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday embarked on a five-day official visit to Japan.

Maryam Nawaz makes history as first Punjab CM to visit Japan

The visit is aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and attracting foreign investment to Punjab. She has become the first chief minister of Punjab to pay an official visit to Japan. During her stay, the chief minister will visit the cities of Yokohama, Osaka, and Tokyo, where she is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Japanese business leaders, representatives of major corporations, and government officials. The agenda includes discussions on investment opportunities, bilateral trade, and the promotion of economic ties between Japan and Pakistan, particularly in the Punjab province. The visit is being regarded as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic relations. Officials hope the trip will pave the way for increased Japanese investment in key sectors such as technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
