CM Bugti reiterates resolve to defeat terrorism in Balochistan

QUETTA(National Times)- Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday vowed to defeat terrorism in the province. Addressing a seminar in Quetta, he said that the people of Balochistan played a crucial role in the creation of Pakistan. He added that the hostile forces want civil war in the region, but their conspiracies would be foiled through collective resolve. He accused external elements of pushing the Baloch people into a meaningless conflict through an organised conspiracy. “Only one to two percent of misled individuals are trying to disrupt peace — they do not represent the whole of Balochistan,” he added, reiterating his support for any peace talks aimed at restoring stability.

Bugti said that the enemy’s schemes to divide Pakistanis will be defeated. “They want civil war in our region, but we will collectively thwart their plans,” he added. The chief minister added that the government cannot hold negotiations with the armed people. He also praised the role of minority communities in defending Pakistan during crisis. “Whenever the nation was under threat, our minorities stood firmly with the country,” he said. Bugti said that Pakistan achieved a great victory against India just recently due to the bravery of our armed forces.
