Pilgrims postpone visit to Iran as Sindh governor, MWM hold talk

KARACHI(National Times)- Leaders of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori on Wednesday night held successful dialogue on pilgrims’ visit to Iran. Speaking to the media, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori said the caravan from Karachi will not proceed to Hub for now, expressing hope that the matter will be resolved in next meeting on Thursday (today). He also confirmed that he had discussed the situation with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and that talks are ongoing with PIA to arrange special flights. Kamran Tessori added that Allama Raja Nasir Abbas had demanded that pilgrims be allowed to travel by road. He stated that today, discussions will take place with the pilgrims’ leadership on three key points, and they will also engage with the Iranian government regarding an extension of visa validity. The governor further shared that he had a telephone conversation with Minister of State for Interior, Senator Talal Chaudhry, during which they discussed the pilgrims’ issues and potential solutions. He acknowledged that ensuring security is the responsibility of the state, and the government is making every possible effort in this regard. Governor Sindh reassured that the authorities are fully aware of the pilgrims’ concerns and are doing everything they can to ensure their timely and safe journey for their sacred pilgrimage.
