Women killed, daughter injured in Karachi road accident

KARACHI(National Times)- A woman was killed and her minor girl sustained injuries in a tragic road accident in Karachi on late Sunday night, Dunya News reported. According to police, the woman was riding with her husband on a motorcycle when her burqa got caught in the motorcycle chain, as a result she fell on the road along with her five-month-old daughter. A bus, operating under the People’s Bus Service, coming from behind ran over them, resulting in the death of woman on the spot while the minor girl sustained injuries. Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to hospital. According to police the deceased was identified as 30-year-old Iqra while the five-month-old girl was identified as Sabiha. The driver of the bus managed to escape from the scene after the accident. Meanwhile, police have seized the bus and launched a search to arrest the bus driver.
