Pakistanis to learn from Dubai’s governance and public service excellence in exchange programme

DUBAI(National Times)- A high-level Pakistani government delegation, led by Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, Bilal Azhar Kayani, is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take part in a two-day intensive experience exchange programme with several UAE ministries and authorities. On the sidelines of the programme, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, held a key meeting with Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange. According to a press statement from the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Ambassador Tirmizi thanked the UAE leadership for their warm welcome and the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue. Deputy Minister Lootah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to smooth and close cooperation with Pakistan, especially in governance, public sector competitiveness, and innovation. He emphasised the importance of mutual learning and collaboration to find solutions that benefit both countries. The two-day programme, held on July 8 and 9, aims to give the Pakistani delegation firsthand experience of the UAE’s innovative governance and public service models, with a special focus on Dubai’s world-renowned system. Ambassador Tirmizi also highlighted Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s strong interest in learning from the UAE’s successful tax automation system to improve Pakistan’s domestic tax collection.
