Dubai’s leading government institution, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), organised the event under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together,” honouring the blue-collar workforce that contributes significantly to the city’s rapid development. Speaking on the occasion, Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Assistant Director General of Dubai’s GDRFA said: “This event is a tribute to the hardworking labour community whose contributions drive Dubai’s success. Amid lively performances, workers enjoyed a mix of Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, and Hindi songs, bringing unmistakable energy to the festivities. Pakistani melodies and Bollywood beats created a vibrant atmosphere, uniting attendees in a spirit of camaraderie. The star-studded affair also featured Bollywood icon Mallika Sherawat, who enthralled the audience with her guest performance. Workers danced and cheered as they embraced the festive spirit, amplified by cultural shows, prizes worth AED500,000, and traditional Eid gifts. According to Dubai government officials, this initiative reflects the Emirate’s commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation among its expatriate workforce.
