3 policemen injured as quadcopter hits police post in KP’s Hassankhel

PESHAWAR(National Times)- Three policemen sustained minor injuries when an explosive-filled energy drink bottle, attached to a quadcopter, exploded after hitting a police post in the Spina Maila area of Hassankhel subdivision here on Friday, a senior official said.

SSP Operations Farhan Khan told Dawn that unidentified terrorists carried out the explosion.

“As a result of the attack, three police personnel sustained injuries. The injured officials, identified as constables Niaz Amin, Daud and Ziaullah, were shifted to the hospital,” he said, adding that police and other security agencies secured the area and initiated a search operation.

Further details would be shared as more information becomes available, he said.

The suspected quadcopter strike was the fifth such attack carried out in the area.
