Terrorists kill 4 villagers in KP’s Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT(National Times)- Terrorists killed four villagers in the Jabbarkhel area of Lakki Marwat district on Monday, the police said.

They said that the incident occurred within the Saddar police station limits. They identified the deceased as Jumma Khan, his son Adnan, Waseem and Naimat, saying that the bodies were shifted to the Government City Hospital. The bodies were later handed over to relatives after completing medico-legal formalities.

According to some villagers, the assailants also took away weapons of the deceased villagers with them.

Police launched an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the police arrested 10 suspects during a search-and-strike operation in the Sabirabad area of Karak district on Monday.

District Police Officer Imran Khan told reporters that the operation was conducted following credible reports that miscreants and their facilitators were present at their hideouts in the rural areas.

He said that a large police contingent equipped with advanced weapons and assisted by the commandos of the Elite Force and Quick Response Force took part in the operation.

“The law enforcers arrested a proclaimed offender and nine facilitators of miscreants and shifted them to the police station,” he said.

Mr Khan said the outlaw was wanted in murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and other cases of heinous nature.

The cops also seized arms and ammunition from the arrested men and registered cases against them.

In Lakki Marwat, a joint team of the district administration and security officials visited the Lakki city to inspect Muharram security arrangements.

Assistant Commissioner Sultan Nooruddin Ahmar, along with DSP Shahi Bakht and army officials, visited the imambargah, the command and control room and checkpoints, where they checked the deployment of cops.

They also inspected the routes of the mourners’ procession and emergency response arrangements.
