QUETTA(National Times)- Five members of a family, including a father and son, were killed and another person injured in an armed clash between cousins over a land dispute in the Do-Bandi area of Qila Abdullah district on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, armed men belonging to the Nusratzai tribe took positions against each other in the Do-Bandi area and exchanged fire using automatic weapons.

The heavy firing continued for more than an hour, leaving five people dead on the spot and one injured. Soon after receiving information about the clash, police and security personnel rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby health facility.

The deceased were identified as Muhammad Usman, Qudratullah, Israr Ahmed, Muhammad Tahir and Najeebullah.

Police said the clash erupted over a dispute regarding the ownership of land in the Do-Bandi area, near the Afghan border.
