Punjab governor vows to support slain hero’s family

TAXILA(National Times)- Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, on Friday, visited and paid condolences to the grieving family of the worker who sacrificed his life by intercepting a suicide bomber near the sensitive Mankoor Check Post in Attock earlier this week.

He paid glowing tribute to the extraordinary courage of railway worker Muhammad Liaquat Ali, while announcing that the inter-provincial joint check post at Mankoor in Jand tehsil would be named after the slain hero.

Governor Saleem Haider said the timely and courageous action of Liaquat Ali had saved dozens of precious lives, including security personnel stationed at the check post. “He sacrificed his own life to protect others. The nation will always remember his bravery and selflessness,” the governor remarked.

During his visit, the governor was informed that the martyr’s sons had discontinued their education due to financial hardships. In response, he pledged to bear all educational expenses of the children from his personal resources, regardless of whether he remains in public office or not. “I assure the family that Liaquat Ali’s children will receive the highest possible education. Their future is now our collective responsibility,” he stated.
