Islamabad/Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense has announced that a Pakistani military contingent has arrived at King Abdulaziz Air Base under a bilateral strategic defense agreement.
In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the contingent has been deployed to the air base located in the Kingdom’s eastern region.
According to the ministry, the Pakistani contingent includes Pakistan Air Force fighter and support aircraft, aimed at strengthening military cooperation, enhancing operational readiness, and promoting regional and global stability.
It is worth noting that the strategic mutual defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was signed in Riyadh in September 2025. The agreement states that any aggression against one country will be considered an act of aggression against both.
The pact was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to boost joint defense cooperation.
According to Bloomberg, both countries have held multiple engagements regarding the agreement amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
