Islamabad (National Times) A high-level Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has arrived in Islamabad for negotiations involving U.S. officials.
The delegation includes Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Secretary of Iran’s Defense Council, the Governor of the Central Bank, and other senior parliamentary members. Officials representing security, political, military, economic, and legal sectors are also part of the visiting team.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, the delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were also present at the استقبال.
Ishaq Dar expressed hope that the talks would move forward in a constructive manner, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating a sustainable and long-term resolution to the dispute.
Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President JD Vance is also en route to Islamabad for the negotiations. His aircraft, a C-32A aircraft, made a stopover in Paris for refueling and is expected to continue onward to Pakistan.
