MQM-P welcomes Tessori back

KARACHI(National Times)- Former Sindh governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Saturday announced that he was organising a comprehensive conference on the future of Sindh, like the one he had done while being in the office for Karachi and its development issues.

The announcement came during his visit to the headquarters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) where Mr Tessori was received by top leadership of the party and a large number of workers, who welcomed him into the party fold again.

Later in a meeting with MQM leaders, he presented a three-and-a-half-year performance report to party chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and the central committee.

Senior party leaders, including Dr Farooq Sattar, Syed Amin Ul Haque and Furqan Atib as well as members of the national and provincial assemblies, were also present.

Later, speaking to the media and addressing the workers, Mr Tessori highlighted the technology-driven initiatives and public service projects introduced during his tenure as governor.

He said that when public support exists, official positions become secondary and pledged to continue serving the people directly. He referred to several welfare measures undertaken during his governorship including the distribution of laptops, motorcycles and other community-oriented initiatives across all districts of Sindh catering to people of diverse linguistic backgrounds.

“I am thankful to Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for the warm reception and other leaders and workers. We have plans to organise a comprehensive conference on the future of Sindh similar to our initiative on Karachi’s development,” he added.
