NPC’s new leadership aims to boost digital journalism and global reach

Islamabad (GNP) :- Newly elected executive body of the National Press Club (NPC) was honored at a prestigious reception held in the federal capital, marking a significant moment of transition and professional celebration within the journalistic community. The event served as a platform for the incoming leadership to outline a transformative roadmap aimed at modernizing the press corps and fostering a more connected, technologically advanced media environment in Pakistan.
The gathering was hosted by the Diplomatic Insight Group, an organization anchored in the mission of “Peace through Informed Dialogue.” The Group’s leadership emphasized their commitment to ensuring Pakistan is understood through credible voices and meaningful global connections. As an ecosystem encompassing media, research, and diplomacy, through platforms like The Diplomatic Insight, DiploTV, and the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, the Group highlighted its role as a bridge between national narratives and the international community.
Asif Noor, CEO of Diplomatic Insight Group, welcomed the distinguished journalists and underscored the importance of institutional alignment between media and research bodies. He noted that the National Press Club remains a vital pillar of the country’s intellectual ecosystem, where public trust is nurtured and national debates are framed. In an era where credibility is the most valuable currency, Mr. Noor reaffirmed the Group’s dedication to supporting the NPC in its mission to uphold journalistic integrity.
During his address, the President of the National Press Club, Abdul Razaq Sial, expressed his gratitude for the event and shared an ambitious vision for the Club’s future. He emphasized the urgent need to enhance the NPC’s footprint in a globalized world by transitioning the institution into a digital-first entity. Key institutional reforms announced include the inauguration of a new, state-of-the-art building, the implementation of a biometric database to ensure transparency among the journalist community, and the launch of specialized training programs and fellowships abroad to equip reporters with modern, international skill sets.
The event, which was moderated by Dr. Farhat Asif, was attended by the prominent members of the newly elected cabinet, including Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao, Secretary Finance Abid Abbasi, and Vice President Bashir Chaudhary and the journalistic community. The proceedings concluded with a mutual commitment to collaborate on initiatives that reflect the resilience and depth of the Pakistani media landscape, ensuring that the stories carrying the nation forward are both informed and impactful.
