Pakistan Embassy in Brussels Marks National Day with Call for Peace and Unity

Brussels (National Times) The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels marked Pakistan Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony, reaffirming the country’s commitment to regional peace, stability, and international cooperation.

Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Pakistan’s envoy to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem. Messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were read out during the ceremony.

In his address, the ambassador highlighted the historical significance of the Pakistan Resolution and paid tribute to Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the country’s founding leaders.

He noted that Pakistan Day is being observed at a time of regional challenges but expressed confidence that the nation would overcome them through unity and determination. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism, he paid tribute to the sacrifices of security forces and citizens who have contributed to maintaining peace and stability.

The ambassador also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing their right to self-determination.

Highlighting diplomatic and economic ties, he described the European Union as Pakistan’s second-largest trading partner and stressed the importance of strengthening relations with Belgium, Luxembourg, and the EU.

He also commended the Pakistani diaspora in Europe for their contributions and role in promoting Pakistan’s image abroad. The ceremony was attended by a large number of community members, including business leaders and journalists, and concluded with prayers for the country’s peace and prosperity.
