CM Maryam approves ‘Rehmat Card Scheme’ for widows, orphans

LAHORE(National Times)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the ‘Rehman Card’ scheme to provide financial assistance to widows and orphans across the province. While chairing a meeting, the chief minister emphasised that the government will now support widows and orphans of Punjab as they are no more helpless. CM insisted that it is the responsibility of the government to provide support to the underprivileged individuals. Under the initiative, the government will provide Rs100,000 to each widow while Rs25,000 will be given to each orphan. The eligible people are required to visit any nearby office of the Zakat and Ushr Department across the Punjab for registering in the Rehmat Card Scheme.
