PM Shehbaz briefs parliamentary leaders on regional security situation

ISLAMABAD(National Times)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has chaired a meeting of leaders and representatives of parliamentary parties in Islamabad. An in-camera briefing is being given at the Prime Minister’s House to political parties and members of parliament regarding the regional situation following border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as the war involving the United States and Israel against Iran. No member of the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is participating in the in-camera session. Among those attending the meeting are Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gillani, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Federal ministers including Ahsan Iqbal, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attaullah Tarar, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Abdul Aleem Khan, Khalid Hussain Magsi, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Special Assistant Talha Burki, Senators Sherry Rehman, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Pervaiz Rasheed, Hafiz Abdul Karim, Faisal Sabzwari, and Jan Muhammad are also present. Members of the National Assembly including Syed Naveed Qamar, Farooq Sattar, Ameenul Haque, and Polain Baloch are also attending the meeting.
