SC schedules hearing on PTI founder’s review petition in Rs10B compensation case

ISLAMABAD(National Times)- The Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing of a review petition filed by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Rs10 billion compensation case. According to sources, the hearing will take place on March 6 regarding the review petition filed by Imran Khan challenging the decision that denied him the right of defense in the case filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif against the PTI founder. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ayesha Malik, will hear the petition, with Justice Hashim Kakar and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim as part of the bench.

During the previous hearing, the court had halted the trial and issued a notice to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif through his lawyerEarlier, both the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court had upheld the decision to deny the right of defense in this case, prompting the PTI founder to file the current review petition.
