FIA cracks down on human smuggling, arrests two suspects

LAHORE(National times)- The Federal Investigation Agency Lahore Zone (FIA) has arrested two individuals involved in human smuggling and visa fraud, officials said Thursday. According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested suspects, identified as Ghaznfar Ali and Muhammad Samiullah, were taken into custody from different areas in Lahore and Mianwali. Authorities said the suspects had collected over PKR 3.6 million from citizens by promising work visas for countries including United Kingdom, Ireland, and Myanmar. However, they failed to send the individuals abroad and subsequently went into hiding. The FIA has launched an investigation into the matter and is actively searching for other possible facilitators linked to the smuggling network.
