PM felicitates Tarique Rahman on taking oath as Bangladesh PM

ISLAMABAD(National times)- Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Tuesday, extended his warmest felicitations to Tarique Rahman, on taking oath as the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The prime minister on X account posted, “I look forward to close and meaningful engagements with my brother, to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation across mutually beneficial areas and to deepen the historic ties between our two countries.” Earlier in Dhaka, 60-year-old Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairman was sworn in as the new prime minister of the country. His party had secured 209 of the 297 seats in the 13th parliamentary polls. According to media reports, Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to Rahman and members of his new cabinet at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad.
